Question jumpstart Can't stat /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0 eror
I installed solaris 9u8 and flar image and put on my jumpstart server which is running 10u3. Then I do jumpstart with new image with same hardware. Jumpstart acts like it installs, configures, and looks generally good. However, During the boot process, it reports the following errors.
The / file system (/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0) is being checked.
Can't stat /dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0
/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0: CAN'T CHECK FILE SYSTEM.
/dev/rdsk/c1t0d0s0: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY.

Insterestingly, I am using this server to jumpstart 10 image and it works perfectly. Can anyone point out what is problem and how to solve it? thanks a lot.

I would boot the machine you jumpstarted from a CD or DVD, mount the / filesystem, and compare /etc/vfstab to the output of format.

I did check the vfsfab. they are all the same. thank you for response.

If I am reading it correctly, it seems to me there may be something wrong with the flar.

Lun remove, stuck in /dev/dsk and /dev/rdsk

So, we removed a LUN from the SAN and the system is refusing to remove the references to it in the /dev folder.
