Facing Problem with metaset in SVM
hi all,
i am using solaris 5.10 on sun blade 150 and i am trying to configure diskset in sun volume manager. When i fire the following command, it says some rpc related error.

bash-3.00# metaset -s kingston -a -h u15_9
metaset: u15_9: metad client create: RPC: Program not registered

how to resolve this?

what is output of "grep -i meta /etc/inetd.conf" ?

And what does rpcinfo report as being registered ?

One other standard setup question - Is root a member of group 14 (sysadmin usu.) ?

Or if not a member of group 14 do you have .rhosts setup with all other hostnames ?

And I'm assuming you're not running SunCluster 3.x ?? (at which point you *shouldn't* need this setup...)

you are right. I am not running any sun cluster. This is just for my learning pupose. I made root user as a member of sysadmin group and restart the machine. But still the problem is there. Is it possible or not to set up a localhost diskset.? If yes, plz guide me.
