Thank you for pointing this out. Good catch.

Both are the same machine. It's a Sun Fire E2900 which shows up as "SUNW,Netra-T12". It's not just this server. I checked another E2900 and it too shows up as "SUNW,Netra-T12".

It is weird they don't show up as "SUNW,Sun-Fire". Smilie

Any suggestions or advice? Please help.

Start with updating the firmware. The version you have is not just old but ancient. You should also update patches as previously mentioned.

Thank you for replying. I removed and re-installed the following packages:

SUNWfruid SUNWfruip SUNWpiclh SUNWpiclr SUNWpiclu

"prtdiag -v" now works!Smilie

Probably nothing to worry with.
An E2900 is an entry level midrange server like the V1280 and Netra 1280. Their firmware documentation mention them all using "SUNW,Netra-T12" as their platform identification while the E6900/E4900/6800/4810/4800/3800 use "SUNW,Sun-Fire":

hi, we have an e6900 and my sys admin says that the number of processors and memory were reduced to 4 and 8GB. However, a prtdiag |grep Memory returns 16GB of memory. So what is my system's memory? psrinfo returns 4 online and 4 offline CPUs. Thanks. Kumar (1 Reply)
