ILOM question on T5120 server
I have a T5120 server and we found out on a security scan that the web interface for the ILOM is enabled. I have been trying to find this information in the wonderful documentation but have not been successful.

Does anyone know if you need the http/https enabled on the ILOM for the serial connection to work? I've heard rumors that if you turn it off it disables the serial connection to the ILOM stops working.

Any help is appreciated.

The http portion does not need to be enabled. Why would a serial connection require a TCP/IP service to run?

Your serial will work if you turn off http.
But your netmgmt wont work if you turn it off (if you were to access the iLOM via BUI)

Netmgt will still work. The BUI will not, but netmgt will.

Thanks for the responses it helped a lot.

System Shock - I don't know why a serial connection would need a TCP/IP service except that it's SUN LOL.

Sun T5120 hardware RAID question
