Your Opinion requested

I am looking for a web-based tool to keep track of my Sun inventory. The following list of fields are fields I would like to store: Root Passwd (needs to be secure) / Hostid / Console Port / IP Address / Platform / Application / Hostname . . . you get the point.

Do any of you know of a reliable product that would fit this need? It would be great if it were web based as well!

Thanks in advance for your input.

Are you looking for open source or COTS? Tivoli Inventory Manager can do what you want and more.

one of my costumers send me an output of his mashine that is looking like what you are searching for:

i don't think that you will find a tool that backups your root-password... and if its no good idea: that's a little insecure....
