link state ipmp with load spreading

Hello,

I am wondering if its possible to do link state IPMP with load spreading on Solaris 10 with 3 addresses, 2 fixed and 1 virtual/floating.

I want to ensure the 'virtual' ip is the only one that can be used by applications. I know with probe based I could mark interfaces as deprecated etc to stop them being used but im going to need more addresses and this would probably result in a probe based setup.

Thanks,

No, you need 2 virtual interfaces for load balancing (active/active), as the data (or virtual) i.p. needs to bind to a dedicated physical NIC. With only a single VIP, you need to configure for an active/passive connection which deals with failover, not increased throughput..
