Unable to mount in failsafe mode in Solaris 10

Hi, A server is running solaris 10. From the OK prompt, I have used the command 'boot -F failsafe' and here I am trying to mount a remote directory using the command: #mount 10.238.233.13:/export/home/ssuser /tmp/mnt but i dont get any response for sometime and then it shows the error... i have a major problem, i renamed the ld.so.1 file. so i want to reboot into single user mode / fail safe / cdrom single user but i will not mount the root disk. if i look in /dev/dsk all i see is ide disks (cdrom) and no actual disks. (2 Replies)

Well well well... Solaris is back

It looks like Sun is finally back with the x86 crowd with Solaris. Solaris 9 is now on their Download / Order page: http://wwws.sun.com/software/solaris/binaries/get.html but $20 to download and $95 for media... I don't think I'll be rushing out to pay that. suninstall - install the Solaris operating system SYNOPSIS
suninstall DESCRIPTION
install-solaris(1M) is now the preferred command for starting and restarting the Solaris Installation program. It should be used instead of suninstall. suninstall is symbolically linked to install-solaris. suninstall is a forms-based and graphical subsystem for installing the operating system. suninstall exists only on the Solaris installation media (CD or DVD) and should only be invoked from there. Refer to the Solaris 10 Instal- lation Guide: Basic Installations for more details. suninstall allows installation of the operating system onto any standalone system. suninstall loads the software available on the installa- tion media. Refer to the Solaris 10 Installation Guide: Basic Installations for disk space requirements. USAGE
