max_acct_file_size - defines the maximum accounting file size VALUES

is a dynamic tunable that limits the maximum accounting file size. See acct(2) and acct(4). If was set to a value that is not a multiple of the accounting record size, the tunable will be rounded up to the next full record silently unless the maximum limit is reached. In this case, the tunable will be rounded down to the nearest full record silently. The only exception to this rule is when the is set back to its default value. The system will accept 2,560,000 without rounding up even if it was not a multiple of the accounting record size. This is done to preserve binary compatibility with previous releases of HP-UX. Who is Expected to Change This Tunable? System administrators that wish to allow accounting files to grow beyond the default. Restrictions on Changing None. When Should the Value of This Tunable Be Raised? If there is a need for larger accounting files than the default. What Are the Side Effects of Raising the Value? Accounting tools that assume accounting files no more than 2.5 MB in size might not be able to handle larger files. When Should the Value of This Tunable Be Lowered?
