here is your answer

head -5 $1
echo "remove $1 ?"
read answer
if [ $answer = "y" ]; then
rm $1
echo "$1 is deleted"
else
#if[ $answer = "n" ];then
#echo "file is not deleted"
#else
#echo "invalid answer"
#fi
echo "file is not deleted"
fi

****************
since anything other than y will not be a correct option you can straight away use echo in the else part or you can use if - then-else in the way its commented inthe script. hope it helps

Regards
