sed -ne "s/\$\$.*//p" input.txt | xargs basename

awk '/\.proc/{sub(/\$.*/,"",$0);print}' RS='/' file.txt

try this also

cat dot.txt
$ cat dot.txt | awk -F"." '/.proc\$\$/ {print $1".proc"}'

Reading text file, comparing a value in a line, and placing only part of the line in a variable?
