help in finger command.

Hi,
iam using sunsolaris.
when you type finger command -- it dispalys information about local and remote users.

but here it shows as can't stat /dev/gold:8664

can anybody help what is the solution for this error.
previously the output came.

Are you root ? Do you have Samba, LDAP or something connected to this box ?
By default finger will use these files :
Quote:
$HOME/.plan user's plan
$HOME/.project user's projects
/etc/default/finger finger options file
/etc/passwd password file
/var/adm/lastlog time of last login
/var/adm/utmpx accounting
Are you sure that you have permissions to use them, or the finger itself ?
