FTPing from unix box to windows box.
Hi All,

I need to know if it is possible ftping files from unix box to windows box .

if yes , how ?. Is there any pre-requisits.

Please tell me the steps, this is very urgent.

all is possible if they speak the same language (tcp/ip?), You just have to enable ftp server on either windows or unix side and that's it

You mean just opening FTP ports ??.

I am able to ftp from unix to unix . How to ftp from unix to windows ?.

This means that ftp srvr is already enabled on unix box, even then I am not able to ftp wnindows box from unix box. Anything required need to be done on windows box ???.


help me out plz..

In order to FTP files from unix to win, you need to have FTP server running on Win, if this is the receiving destination ( means, you don't need to have FTP server on the unix box to ftp from there )

Install FTP server software at windows machine, when you talk about any service, you need a server running who can entertain your requests, right Smilie
