Sendmail with wrong domain name

Not sure if this is the right place so I'm sorry if its not. I am setting up a new RHE server and trying to get sendmail to work correctly. Currently when I test sendmail I will recieve an email from (username@servermydomain.com.com) I have scoured the sendmail.cf and cannot find this anywhere. Where is this coming from and how do I correct it?

what does ls -l sendmail.cf show? Has it changed recently? There should a default version of sendmail.mc you can compile and then substitute. If in doubt.

If it got changed you may want to revert. Here is how to revert:
sendmail.mc is what you change then compile with m4 into sendmail.cf. You did that, right? ...assuming you already changed something. It is not a good idea to edit sendmail.cf directly, BTW.

so we actually figured out that our host name was the problem. we had it set to server.domain so we changed it to just server and that worked. I'm actually not the one changing the files the other 2 DBA's are but I'm a DBA in training.
