To be honest i don't get it: what exactly is the nohup for in this script? When you are waiting for the finishing processes anyway you don't need any nohup, no?

Prevents the processes from freezing if they attempt to access the terminal. A redirect would also do.

Did not use 'wait' yet. How I understand by now the wait works only for child processes, started background.
