Unlink multiple files

I wish to unlink multiple links, but man pages shows
unlink - call the unlink function to remove the specified file
let's linked are in number sequence and I'm doing
unlink `echo {1..500}`
This fails..

Is their any other command to execute it or I need to call the unlink function that many times using a script ?

Thanks

As you said, the unlink utility is specified to take a single operand; not 500.
Try:
Code:
rm [1-9] [1-9][0-9] [1-4][0-9][0-9] 500

If that gives you an error due to line length restrictions, try:
Code:
find . ! -name . -prune \( -name '[1-9]' -o -name '[1-9][0-9]' -o -name '[1-4][0-9][0-9]' -o -name 500 \) -exec rm {} +
