I guess its the strftime command
It may be replaced by some like this:
h=int($0/3600);m=int(($0-h*3600)/60);s=($0-h*3600-m*60);printf "%02d:%02d:%02d\n",h,m,s

As always.... use nawk instead of awk on Solaris,
