Linux Cut from specific line number to a line number

Hi All,

I've a file like this..

Sheet1
a,1
a,2
a,3
a,4
a,5
Sheet2
a,6
a,7
a,8
a,9
a,10
Sheet3
a,11
a,12
a,13
a,14
a,15

I want to cut data from line starting after Sheet2 to line before Sheet3. i.e my output will be like

a,6
a,7
a,8
a,9
a,10

Here, I don't know line number of string 'Sheet2' & 'Sheet3'. I've done googling & searched through this forum , but have not able to do it.

I'm sure you guys wont disappoint me..Smilie

Cheers

You do mean you want the following, right?
Code:
a,6
a,7
a,8
a,9
a,10

Yes, we wouldn't want to disappoint. Smilie Here are two possible ways, both of which I like:
Code:
$ sed -n "/Sheet2/,/Sheet3/ p" file | grep -v Sheet
a,6
a,7
a,8
a,9
a,10

Code:
$ awk '/Sheet3/ { exit } p == 1 { print } /Sheet2/ { p = 1 }' file
a,6
a,7
a,8
a,9
a,10

You can use a simple grep line as well.
Code:
grep -v "Sheet[0-9]\{1,3\}" file
