I just added exit to the bottom line of my remote script - so now it looks like:

#! /bin/ksh

touch /pathtofile/test1

exit

Still hangs though.....

look at your ssh_config and sshd_config files --- there might be something there that is affecting non-interactive connections ... unfortunately, i'm no ssh expert so i'll have to defer to the people that know ssh better ....

Anyone know sshd better?

I have checked the config files - but nothing seems to be unusual here, and I have not changed them from the default settings that were installed with Solaris 9.

Do you have the -n flag set when running the ssh command? If not then you probably should.

Didnt have the -n flag set previously..
Set this for my batch script - but again it just seems to hang. The remote scripts are executed but the process is still running on my server.

What version of SSH are you running on both machines?

On my server:
SSH Version Sun_SSH_1.0, protocol versions 1.5/2.0.

On the remote server I am trying to execute the script on:
OpenSSH_3.8.1p1, OpenSSL 0.9.7d 17 Mar 2004
