Question Extracting content from a file

I have to source a file "varname" the content of varname file is like this:

 ani1 = abc_ani
 ani2 = def_ani

 sham1 = abc_sham
 sham2 = abc_sham

Now i need to extract any line containing "ani: in it. And then store the extracted info in a file.

What wrong with just:
 grep ani filename > newfile.tostore

# 3

Your requirement is not very clear.

You should have specified the expected output.

In any case, if you want to extract the information assigned to "ani*":
sed -n 's/ani.*=//p' Inp_File

The result is:

# 4
