Lightbulb Ftp : Size

Hi All,

I have a very simple requirement which is stopping me from completing my assignment.

During FTP session, I can get the size of the file using "`size filename`".
In the same way how to get the size of a directory??

I've searched our site as well as the web, couldn't find anything relative to my query.

I doubt, there is no direct way to find size of a directory from FTP session.

Can you please elaborate more on your requirement why you want to get size of a directory?

Very simple dear........ Get the directory size and put an automated alert to mon itor closely as that dir is alloted with limited quota.....

Alternatively, now I've deployed to find the individual file sizes and sum it up...

I want to make even more simple....

FTP is very simple and stupid. It doesn't do anything recursive like that.
