Searching for a pattern between 2 semicolons

I have logs which is having strings like below,
errorMsg;bad input;

so I need to grep from logs file which searches for errorMsg followed by semicolon followed by any text and then ending again with semicolon.

More importantly, I should not get errorMsg and having nothing inside the 2 semicolons. I should get results having something between the 2 semicolons. Please help me with the grep or any other for searching this.

Thanks in advance.

errorMsg;       ;bla
errorMsg;bad input;
$> egrep "errorMsg;[^;[:space:]*]" infile

Thank you !

And one more question -

I need to search for lines having the string "exec_error" but not having the strings "Web site/page/script" and "Illegal loop"

For eg from below log file, I need to get only the 1st line and not the 2nd line and 3rd lines,

exec_error: Invalid file format
exec_error: Web site/page/script
exec_error: Illegal loop

grep -vE "exec_error: Web site/page/script|exec_error: Illegal loop" infile
exec_error: Invalid file format

grep "exec_error" filename |grep -v "Web site/page/script"|grep -v "Illegal loop"
