In file, we have millions of records each of 1000 in length. And at specific position say 800 there is a space, we need to replace it with Character X if the ID in that row starts with 123.
So far i have used the below which is replacing space at that position to X but its not checking for... (3 Replies)

I created a awk state to calculate the number of success however when the query runs it has a leading zero. Any ideas on how to remove the leading zero from the calculation?
Here is my query:
cat myfile.log | grep | awk '{print $2,$3,$7,$11,$15,$19,$23,$27,$31,$35($19/$15*100)}'

I have following regex condition, however it does not work with different logs having same visible string.I believe it is because of some difference with space character, is it possible to make it work everywhere.

Hi all,
I have the following script
S1a="13 9 -0.0012041"
S1b="13 8 -1.00000 "
sed 's/${S1b}/${S1a}/g' funE00.i > tmp1
but the strings are not replaced.
Maybe the problem is in the spaces cointaned in the variables?
