Like the topic says, does anyone know if it is possible to check to see when an FTP only user has logged in? Because the shell is /bin/false and they are only using FTP to access the system doing a "finger" or "last" it says they have never logged in.

Trying to limit 1 login per account...
Setup:
We have 2 auth logins, one to the AIX (telnet)then into a distribution mgmt software, the users do not have a shell to log into on the AIX itself, so placing a script such as:
active=`who | awk '{printf",%s,\n",$1}' | grep ,$LOGNAME, | wc -l`

I have pptp users logging in remotely, they dial in via a modem, my linux server has three modems attached, each modem is assigned an IP address. Each time a user trys to connect to a modem and it is in use, it acts like a rotary system and goes to the next modem.... (1 Reply)
