hi frnds,

I have my data file as belw
Code:

while am using sql loader to load all the data in the data file its not loading into table and throw error as 3rd filed length so long. but i hav the DB filed with more than enough length.

if i reduce the length of 3rd filed , its getting loaded. Smilie

whats the problem? any one can give solution? is the any lenth limitation in unix assigning values to variable ?

I think it is definitely not due to OS problem. Can you tell us 3rd field length and size of that column in the table.

Hi Gopal,
As luckybalaji says, unix isn't producing this error. You appear to be encountering a limitation of your sql loader instead or the database's field limit is too short.

I would suggest doing a single manual import of one line using a more robust tool to test the database limit.
If that works correctly, replace your sql loader.
