Question eject floppy messages

Anyone know if there is a way to keep the "/dev/floppy/... can now be ejected" messages from coming up on the screen? I'm using Solaris 8 and it pops a message up, which is fine, but it also writes text in the terminal session... that is what I'm trying to avoid. I have tried running in silent mode and redirecting the output to the console. I don't have too many tricks in my book yet, so I'm turning for help Smilie

ps -aef | grep automountd and kill it.

'man automount' for more info.

The only extra text I received was in a new window that lists "Watch Errors" (unless I unmounted and ejected -p manually from command line). See the man page for eject and the -p option, and check out the man page on vold.

And be aware when killing off automountd - it is used for NIS, NIS+, and NFS mounts.
