Error is Threading in shell script possible...?

Hi frnds,

I have once script which is executing the command on local and remote machine continuously and I m collecting the required logs in separate file.

Now, I m facing one issue...

One or two test get hang randomly.. and because of that script get hang in between.... Now to resolve this issue.. I m thinking to run each such test in thread... (Threading in shell script)

First of all let me know is threading is possible in shell script...
if Yes please guide me...

if NO.. let me know how can I resolve this issue...

You can run commands simultaneously by putting them in the background: add an ampersand after the command.

Code:
emacs & ## start a text editor
firefox & ## start the web browser
alpine ## Start e-mail client in the foreground

hi

I think you can resolve the issue by involving fork() processes as they might run diff. set of processes in background.
