Dell workstation that has a DVD/RW that will write to DVD and CD in windows.
Running RHEL5.1 and using Nautilus CD burner application.
The drive will write to DVD but doesn't recognize blank CD-RW...

I have several RHEL systems that are on an isolated network so I can't run up2date or yum directly on them.

What is the best way to keep these systems updated and patched?

No this is a local file system - no NFS mounts exist.
