I am using the NOTIFY command and I am getting the emails.. I tried MAILX and e-mail is being sent. I want to use NOTIFY to see if my jobs are completed or not. Am I missing something..

I am trying to edit the crontab but I am not able to open it. I just get 863 but nothing opens.I tried crontab -l found some entries.

Could some please let me know if I am missing...

I tried doing man getprivgrp but do not get manual for it. I am runing unix on Solaris flavour.. Does solaris has this method?

LEAD owns it and now I want to assign it to SUBLEAD. I am logged in a LEAD.

I am logged in as the LEAD owner and trying to change the ownership to SUBLEAD.

Hi All,
I have a specific requirement hope you guys can help me resolve this problem.


I want to send an email when a specific user logs in..
Eg: My User ID on the Unix box is VENKYA...

Sun Solaris and k Shell. When I try to login from Exceed it does not the .Profile File I need to say .profile in order to start up.. My other colleagues over here when they log in the .profile starts...

Once I logged into the Unix Box the .profile does not work I need to enter .profile after I get the prompt to make it work.

Could anyone give me an idea why it is happening like this.
