I have a 1TB HD, suspect it had bad sectors and blocks...

it was pre-installed with windows 8.0..

I was able to boot up ubuntu and looked at the partitions and run a badblocks comand to verify...

yes, you can run fdisk and modify the partition while it is on a LVM, it is a bit scary..

vgscan and lvscan came up with nothing , after running fdisk

I am not Linux lvm expert, I know it...

I am using qla* module at part of the Unix kernel, it is not OEM drivers that come with the HBA card, so I can't use Sansurfer to do this.....

typo, sorry mksysb to /dev/rmt1 too slow
my correction, the tape device is /dev/rmt1..

it is still slow, takes 1 hr to do 1%...using mksysb -e -i /dev/rmt1

yes, I realize WPAR is solaris zone for container..

However, unlike AIX, all clustering software Veritas and Sun work well under container...
