I'm running OSX freeBSD

I have what hopefully is a simple question.

how do i move a file into a new directory using the mv command and without invoking the mkdir command to create...

that command exists only in /usr/libexec/makewhatis. Does it make a difference?

the following is in my .profile

I believe my apropos command is corrupt. Every time i invoke it the following happens... please see attached png file. Is there a way for me to reinstall or rebuild the apropos command? However,...

is there a simple way to change the default value of a file size shown from byte to megabyte when calling commands like wc -c; ls -l; du; etc.
