I'd seriously consider upgrading your other servers to a current version of Fedora as well.

Is there any reason for you to stick with Fedora 16? It's fairly easy to upgrade between versions now if you start with a current release.

You can also use the eslelect tool so choose between versions of installed packages

Are you saying a directory in /home is missing or the entire /home directory?

Is /home on a separate drive?

I'd recommend updating tot he latest version. 14 is a very long way behind.
