I want to calculate the number of pipe delimiters in a file for all lines seperately.

For eg:i have a file Project.txt

Mohit|chawla|123|678
File1|File2|345|767|678

And my file...

Please tell me how i can use SQL in my unix scripts.
Please give examples.
I just want to start writing some scripts for my use.
Looking for ur cooperation.

Actually i have sql queries and with those queries i want to check the feed files in unix.

so i have the joining condition as:
Column 4 from F1= Column 29 from F2;
Column 10 from F1= Column...

there are some joining conditions like:

Column 4 from F1= Column 29 from F2;
Column 10 from F1= Column 165 in F2;
and if value in column 8 from F2='3'...

if i want to get the row in which a particular condition is req,
than how can i do it?
Like in the above given file if i want to extract only the row where second column =12 in the first file....

I am having two files which are pipe_delimited. I want only those rows in the output which are common values in 3 columns of both the files. The column Numbers in both the files are same as 3,29,31....
