Hello,
Is there a way to use wc, sed or other commands against remote sftp in a regular shell script?


wc -c *.* | grep total | sed s/total// ?

Do they support ssh? If so then sftp is already built in. Sftp is part of ssh. No need for extra configuration, credentials, etc. If you can ssh to a box, you can sftp to a box with same credentials....
