Disregard post: I found my problem.

I wasn't using the printer.cfg file, and I WAS for...

Issue: upon running - $ sudo /usr/local/nagios/bin/nagios -v /usr/local/nagios/etc/nagios.cfg

I'm receiving:
Error: Could not find any hostgroup matching 'network-printers' (config file...

ok, well at least the error changed.
