I've never heard of AIX on Intel, I don't think there is. As far as I know its available only on IBM pSeries (AKA RS/6000) machines.

Other than df -k, is there any command that will tell me all physical hard drives installed on the system as well as the size of each one?

I'm using AIX 5.1

bootlist -m normal cd0 hdisk0

(to set bootlist to boot from CD/DVD, or from hard disk if no CD found)

Try
>oslevel
or
>oslevel -r
the -r will give you the maintenance level as well

I'm just wondering what the differences/relationships there are between processes, services, daemons and subsystems?
I keep coming across these terms but I can't find clear definitions/explanations...
