but how do I ftp a directory and all the files in it?

Hello,

There is a command out there that gives back info on your system; e.g. PentiumIII, etc.

I came across it a while back, but cannot find it now.

Does anyone know what that command is?

cut -f2 -d" " file1 > file2 This will put...
cut -f2 -d" " file1 > file2

This will put just that column into file2.

I'm sure there are other solutions out there as well, but I hope this helps.

Why are you using -c2-; i.e., why doesn't -c1- work for the first character?

Or they can be placed in your .bashrc, .cshrc, etc. depending on the shell you are using.
