Thanks Wntellect, that would mean that 2K must do it as 2K has to be installed before XP and is on the first drive - disc 0.

Boot Magic 7
For a multi-boot setup (win2K, XP & SuSE) over 3 drives, where should Boot Magic be installed to? And does it matter which o/s installs it?

As soon as I can get my hands on a copy I'll try RedHat. I've been mix'n'matching bits between three boxes all day and no matter which motherboard I tried it with, I couldn't get my copy...

It may pay to check out your hardware on a compatibility chart, too. Just type 'hardware compatibility' in a search engine and follow the thread for version specific checks. Do you...

Hi all,

multidisk hardware
Hi Hachik,
Yeah, I see it with 2K & XP. I partitioned it into 2 x 37GB dynamic partitions but Mandrake 7.2 & 9.0 only see hda (2K's disc) and hdb (XP's disk). hda & hdb are both basic so I changed...

Raid 0 - a near death experience?
Thanks for you thoughts Auswipe,
I hadn't considered the 'suicide' nature of Raid 0. At one stage I was heading toward level 5, but then I discovered Linux and bought an 80 (instead of another 60)...

Raid
Hi Auswipe,
Thanks for your comment. I take it you feel I'd be better just to let Mandrake partition my 80 for itself and Red Hat - around 37 GB each?
