Distribute Master's Thesis Under GPL?
What does everyone think about distributing a Master's thesis under the GPL? If this license is not appropriate, is there a corresponding license which offers the same thing for documents?

FinkCommander
FinkCommander is a Cocoa GUI for fink; it works great. BTW, I did eventually get fink running via CLI, but it's much easier to keep track of what it's doing graphically. Thanks, everyone!

No problem!
No problem, fbavent! The sudo commmand is a corruption of "pseudo," as in pseudonym, i.e., an alias. Sudo lets you impersonate the superuser for any command line. If you'd like the manual pages for...

Darwin, XDarwin, and Mac OS X
No; all Darwin software, including XDarwin, will run on Mac OS X; Mac OS X software requires the Mac OS X.

I believe that all software everywhere should be free to the public, but it's not....

Please see above.
Please see above. This is Darwin & XDarwin, not OS X. All of these clients require OS X. Repeat, this is command-line UNIX (Darwin) and X-windows (XDarwin). Anyone else?

Darwin + XFree86 FTP Client
Does anyone know of a decent Darwin + XFree86 FT client package? Obviously a precompiled file is better than binary, but I'll take what I can get.

...DIEZEL, if you're on OS X, Terminal.app is the best game in town. When you say "telnet app," what do you mean specifically? To my way of thinking, any terminal is as good as another when it comes...

cp
cp just copies the file to the path you give it. If you want to call this a backup, I won't get in your way.

My new Pro Keyboard works great, but the power switch on the computer won't turn the computer on! It's an older model, a Revision D iMac (333), but I know I've used the computer-mounted power switch...

No problem with Aqua!
No, no, no--no problem with Aqua at all. Acrobat 5.0 was a Classic application, meaning its code hadn't had the ~10% rewrite necessary to run natively in both OS 9.x and OS X, meaning that its...

Did you try editing a copy of the file, and then replacing the original with the edited version? If so, I'm out of suggestions except for booting up from OS 9 and editing the file with SimpleText.
