i do know how to kill a job from root, but in a root directory i have some jobs that are spooled and sometime there is just one that has garbage that needs to be killed.

This might be a stupid question, but here it goes. Do you use the same command to kill a job in a directory as you would from the root prompt?

And in that directory, how would you know which job...

man pages would be nice....

I am being taught UNIX hands on. Recently, I have been having problems with my qdaemon going down. I know that the short cut to start it is startsrc -s qdaemon.

thank you....this does help me on short cuts instead of going through smit.

but any ideas as to why it continues to go down about the same time just about every other day.

any ideas as to why the qdaemon would stop about the same time every other day. nothing has changed on our system.

any ideas would be appreciated.
