Error cannot open line ttyaXX

OK, I found out that the motherbaord was toasted on the pc which cause the black screen.
I replace it now PC powered on OK but getting error message "Error cannot open line ttya0 to ttya13". I think this has to do with the new hardware.
How do I remove or fix these line?
Another problem is, I do not have the root password.

Thanks for your help Smilie

The cannot open error can be stopped by typing disable tty(insert the specific tty number here). That will modify the inittab entries so those tty's won't be used on startup.
