I did an upgrade on Jan 3,2014 from CentOS 6.4 to 6.5 and noticed that there hasnt been any updates since then

??

Can you post the [updates] section of /etc/yum.repos.d/CentOS-Base.repo?

Ah, here lies the problem:
This section tells yum to look for the updates files in the os repository, which contains only the packages at the time of release of the version.

Either change the baseurl setting to

Code:

baseurl=http://mirror.centos.org/centos/6/updates/i386/

or use the mirrorlist= directive instead. mirrorlist would look for a mirror close to your location resulting in better download speed. Your baseurl= setting tells yum to always download from the main CentOS website, which might be a lot slower.

The same is true for the other sections (extras, centosplus,...)

Thanks to another user but thanks to all, this has been solved.

That .repo file has been modified from what the centos-release-6-5 package installs.

For the "updates" repo you are going to the centos/6/os directory instead of the centos/6/updates directory.

Looks like the same problem for the "extras" and "centosplus" repos.
