SMTP Settings

Hi all,

Please help to check weather the SMTP settings are configured or not on my LINUX server?

I want to send a mail to mailbox. I know that the target SMTP server has to be configured on LINUX box to do so.

How can i see weather it is configured or not?

Can you send a mail to the mailbox?

When Yes, then it's configured.

When No, post some more info about your configuration...

Thanks for the reply,

Before sending mail itself, i want to confirm weather the settings are done or not.
Is there any file in /etc drive where all these mail configuration settings will be stored?

If Yes, may I know that filename?

That depends on what mail exchanger you are using. Do you know if you are using sendmail or postfix or qmail or some other such exchanger?
