Good book

I just want to know if someone can tell me if this
book "C Programming Language (2nd Edition)
by Brian W. Kernighan, Dennis M. Ritchie" is
a good book to learn C on unix/linux ???

i'm an old (33 Smilie) mainframe programmer who wants to learn something else besides cobol and pl/1 ......

That book is good for a start as well as ongoing reference on the C language... its learning pattern is somewhat different with the first chapter starting right away with full (though simple) C programs letting the language constructs explain their purpose by themselves... I like this approach much and it suites many...

The exercises are great and I would suggest having the "C Answer Book" by Clovis L. Tondo and Scott E. Gimpel as a sort of comparison to your solutions to the exercises...

Thanks for the reply.
I'll like the approach with a lot of examples etc.
because i now the only way to learn is to use
a language have some good examples.
i'll order it right away
