Active Quota - RPC rquota.x

I'm trying to use the RPCL definition file rquota.x in a program which checks user disk quota information on NFS mounts. It apparently provides means of getting all quotas as well as just "active" quotas. Would anyone be able to tell me what is meant by an "active" quota? Thanks.

I would assume this to mean a quota that is actually in use by a mounted and nfs-shared filesystem.

Thanks for you reply, I had assumed that that might the case as well, but I was actually just informed that getquota and getactivequota are identical.
