Hi ctsgnb !
1) This is the big problem I have ! when you make a threshold condition (80% as an example) the algorithm split one group into multiple group ! because all the associations (as shown in your #19 response) don't satisfy the initial threshold condition

G2) Yes Y-X is the same as X-Y . But in my data we can not have these possibility because it's a pairwise comparison (triangulable matrix) . Each association is found one time
3) The order don't mater between line
Thanks

I don't now if it's possible but as you say we will add a final step that merge group that share one or more elements ! it's correct ?

I am not going to re-invent the wheel Smilie

I think it should be some specific software that should be able to do what you need i think you should look for a relevant tree building algorithm that match your requirements.

Maybe you can have a look at TreeSoft: TreeBeST
and see if you can generate a file in a format that this soft can handle so it can generate the corresponding tree.

OK sir !! thanks very much i will have a look and I will keep you informed

the TreeSoft software is adapted for coding sequences (Amino acid) and not nucleotides sequence (i'm working with non coding sequence). I begin to despair... Smilie
Anyway thanks a lot for your help
