I am trying to bring down the application gracefully before bringing down AIX OS/LPAR using RC directories.

Issue: Application script is not working properly during/before AIX OS/LPAR...

you can use any of the following commands to see the CPU utilization.
vmstat, sar , topas, iostat ==> look for %entc (entitled capacity)usage

ps aux ==> shows CPU and memory...

instead of using " ntpdate -d...
