Then zfs set mountpoint=/whatever mat/vol_4and you have it mounted.

Is this on a sparc or x86 machine?
On x86 machine, run the following commands to access pcfs disk type.

/etc/init.d/volmgt stop
format -e or rmformat

mount -F pcfs /dev/dsk/c2t0d0p0:c...

So you can access it under /rmdisk/unnamed_rmdisk ;).

New USB disks will show up in rmformatand format. df is for mounted filesystems.
