Keeping old Private Messages

I am getting a warning that "Your PM box is 92% full." I have received (and kept) 46 messages; the upper limit is 50 messages. Is there a way to increase this limit, or to store the messages off-line in a way that would permit me to import them back to the site if I want to? 50 messages seems awfully small. (I even moved some of them to other folders, thinking it would free up some space, but no. What good is a folder structure if there are only 50 messages to manage, anyway?)

I dont know how high the limit is. Being a moderator, the upper limit for me is 70. I dont know if this can be increased. Perhaps the Administrators know better.

Yes, we can increase the limit.

However, most people routinely clear out their PMs, so the limit has never been an issue.

Any reason to store so much old PMs?

No particular reason other than I like to keep a historical record.

We need to keep some PM limit, so what would you suggest should be the number of PMs in your boxes before you start to "clean house"?
