Threads disappeared

Dear admins,

it seems that some threads or even users have recently (~ 2 days or so) disappeared. Examples: giuliangiuseppe and greycells. The latter asked me for the solution I provided earlier this week.

What happened? Can you help?

Regards
Rüdiger

Sorry, but searching around, I cannot find any evidence or indication of any threads missing or delete by the users giuliangiuseppe and greycells.

Thread do not "delete themselves" ... and only mods and admins have the privs to delete threads, regular members cannot delete their own threads.

I've got a "Reply to thread 'Remove duplicates based on more fields and filter'" (giuliangiuseppe) here with the link "https://www.unix.com/showthread.php?t...1&goto=newpost which can't be accessed any more.
Same is valid for https://www.unix.com/showthread.php?t...4&goto=newpost by greycells.

I can confirm some on RudiC doubts.

For instance on the front page of unix.com, Linux section, under Last Post column there is a
https://www.unix.com/showthread.php?g...wpost&t=264506

Or viewed like
Mkfs.ext3 /dev/sdb1... , answered by RudiC but i'm unable to follow link.

Hope that helps.
Regards
Peasant.

Thanks.

OK....in the night when site is less busy, I'll try to optimize / repair the database and see if that helps.

Also, after looking into this a bit more, seems there could be an issue with DragonByte Tech: SEO software that does URL Rewrites for Forum URLs...

Please post any other errors and I'll look into this in more detail during the weekend slow period.
