Hello,

Just wondering - why the four character minimum on search criteria? I'd like to search for threads containing discussion about sed. Tried sed* and stream editor with no results.

The reason, as I understand the forum software, is so the back-end database is not overly hammered and file buffers, etc. are not overflowed with incrediblely small matches.

I will check into reducing this to three and ask the vBulletin developers how this might effect the site performance. Thanks for asking. Please be patient as I'm overloaded with bill-paying projects Smilie

By request, the minimum string length for a search is now three.
